Japan Horticultural Festival 2021    

We are delighted to announce that kodaiandassociates in collaboration with Otis Landscape Associates have been commissioned by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, to participate in its Japan Festival 2021

We were asked to design a garden that would offer a contemporary response to a Japanese garden, located within Kew's breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage site of the Temperate House.

The Chalk Garden is inspired by the Japanese way of seeing the gardens and is designed to pull the observer's eye through the stone garden of chalk, presenting an environment that is open to interpretation, and a window of opportunity to pause, observe and reflect.

The festival will be held from Saturday 2nd to Sunday 31st of October.
